  • 9:30 Phase 1 achievement by research theme (2-4 posters per theme)
    1. Socio-economics of intensification (Theme 1) – Leads (Bekele Kotu for Ghana, Felix Badolo for Mali)
    2. Intensifying crop production (Theme 2) – Leads (Nurudeen Abdulrahman for Ghana, Jean Baptiste for Mali)
    3. Intensifying livestock and integrated crop/livestock (Theme 3) – Leads (Augustine Ayantunde for both Ghana and Mali)
    4. Land, soil and water management (Theme 4) – Leads (Cofie Olufumke for Ghana, Birhanu Zemadim for Mali)
    5. Household nutrition, food safety, mycotoxin, postharvest (Theme 5) – Leads (Mahama Saaka for Ghana,Caroline Sobgui for Mali)

    • Process: Bus stop format: Five small groups tour different thematic stations. Each group has a specific assignment., two bus stop leads - for Ghana and Mali components, except for livestock theme that has only one. Brief intro. Summary presentations by the two co-bus stop leads on poster components (innovations and technologies for potential scaling) from relevant country. Roughly 8-10 minutes to present;. Visitors assigned to interest groups. Guided/open-ended questions to be used by the interest groups. Guided questions listed below. After 30 mins; the group rotates to a new station.
    • NB: Bus stop leaders and interest group leaders to document their views about each stop. This feedback to be reported back during plenary.

    • (a) What scaling has there been to date and with / by whom? (implementing partners)
    • (b) What are the R4D gaps for future consideration? (scientist)
    • (c) Where is the real potential for scaling and who should the partners be? (implementing partners)
    • (d) What were the big three achievements under this theme? (gov)
    • (e) What were the big lessons regarding implementation (CG and non-CG partners, logistical challenges etc.)? (implementing partners )
    • (f) How have gender aspects been taken into consideration in planning and implementing of research? (farmers)
    • (g) How could the research lead your more nutrition sensitive outcomes? nutrition (scientist)

    • Process: Brief intro. presentation followed by Q&A. Irmgard expects a concrete discussion here about how to reach the scaling numbers ?
  • 9:00 Phase 2 scaling opportunities and partners – Mali ( Oumar Samake is from AMEDDD, A proposal on strategies and partners for scaling selected proven technologies will be presented and discussed. This will involve identifying opportunities and partners for scaling prior to the meeting in each country) - Representative of lead institute
    • Process: Intro.presentation,5 minutes table buzz and collecting input per table

    • Process: Soft copy and hard copy versions to be provided to participants. Hardcopy prints to be made for each outcome group. Participants form groups per outcome (check no. of outcomes from draft logframe). Asamoah to advise facilitators on the leaders of outcome groups and advise facilitators. Participants discuss the logframe in groups for 1 hour, document their feedback, then 30 minutes for each outcome group leader to give a summarized feedback from each group in general plenary.

  • 14:30 Review and development of the draft work plan 2017 - Current and potential partners will fill sections of the work plan with intended activities for 2017, activity leaders, and estimated budget per activity. Leaders will have up to end of February 2017 to submit detailed 2017 work-plans. A draft listing activities under each output will be circulated to participants before the meeting.
    • Process: Participants form group (by country), discuss in groups for 90 minutes, 30 minutes for highly summarized reporting back by the groups
